A 20 minute walk along riverside footpaths takes you to the market town of Wymondham for shops restaurants pubs a fine abbey and a leisure centre with swimming pool. Nearby there are privately owned fishing lakes at Barford with day tickets available. The quieter seaside resorts of Southwold and Aldeburgh can be reached within an hour or the famous Broads for day boat hire are within easy reach as is the fine city of Norwich with theatres a castle museums and a cathedral.
