You will be able to stroll to the sand dune beach on the River Torridge which is popular with bathers and sand castle makers as well as the adjacent village shop yacht club pubs and very well known restaurants. The Tarka Trail can be accessed in less than 1 minute and is perfect for walkers with some lovely riverside views along the former railway line. Venture further afield and explore the many attractions North Devon has to offer including a range of surfing beaches Tapeley Park The Big Sheep National Trust Arlington Court The Oldenburg for day trips to Lundy Island and much more. In the evenings relax in the pleasant garden or enjoy village hospitality in the local pub. Accommodation overview: Situated in the peaceful village of Kirkby Malzeard just six miles from the delightful town of Ripon, Bradley House provides excellent self catering accommodation for up to five guests. The cottage has retained some original character features such as the old beams and fireplace, but has been recently modernised to include a sunny and spacious conservatory which is an excellent additional living and dining space and overlooks the south facing garden. The bedrooms are all of a good size, and a smaller room to the rear has a full size single bed but would suit a child. The cottage also has the convenience of a modern shower room on the ground floor as well as a family bathroom on the first floor. Accommodation overview: The peaceful village of Finsthwaite nestles amongst large ares of woodland one mile from Lakeside at the southern end of the Lake Windermere and close to Hawkshead and Grizedale Forest. The area offers some excellent walking opportunities, much favoured by Wainwright, including the circular 5 mile walk to High and Low Dam, from where the waters drove the nearby Stott Park Bobbin Mill. High Dam Tarn is a well known beauty spot and where stands Finsthwaite Tower, built to commemorate those servicemen who defeated the French in the 18th century. St Peters Church is well worth a visit, the churchyard home to the grave of the Finsthwaite Princess, believed to be the daughter of Prince Charles Edward, the Young Pretender.
